At the Career Resource Management Center, one can search the Internet for job search websites, view federal and private job announcements, and draft and post resumes. Both the Transition Assistance Management Program (TAMP) and the Family Member Employment Assistance Program (FMEAP) are located within the CRMC.

  • TAP WORKSHOP FOR SEPARATEES

    February 6–9 • 8 am – 4 pm • Building 29, Room 104

    This workshop provides employment assistance and transition resources to separating Marines and their spouses. TAP is designed to provide accurate and relevant information pertaining to career opportunities, job search techniques, networking, education and training benefits, health and life insurance options, financial planning, and veteran’s benefits and entitlements.     This workshop will be provided by a representative from the Small Business Administration.  Topics to be discussed include the following: Developing the idea, Market research, Structuring the business, Developing a business plan, Obtaining capital and various sources of financing.   • CRACKING THE CODE TO THE FEDERAL HIRING PROCESS

    Wednesday, February 15 • 1–3 PM • Building 29, CO's Conference Room

    The Obama Administration is hiring for over 600,000 positions over the next three years.  Would you like to be selected for one of these positions?  Learn about the federal hiring process, and understand how to create a federal application package that will set you apart from the competition.  This workshop is being taught by a former GS15 HR Manager from the Office of Personnel Management.  Please register with the Career Resource Management Center at 703-614-6828.

    Wednesday, February 22 • 1–3 pm • Building 29, Room 104

    This workshop is designed to assist individuals seeking information in reference to service-connected disabilities.  If you think you may have a service-connected disability, you should attend to gain more knowledge and have a better understanding of the process and entitlements.  Remember: your disability is not always noticeable, and the VA representative will be better able to assist you.   • ADECCO’S MILITARY SPOUSE CAREER CONNECTIONS INTAKE

    Developed with the specific needs of military spouses in mind, Adecco's Military Spouse Career Connections offers continuous support to help you achieve your professional goals. Adecco staff will be on-site at Henderson Hall to interview candidates for employment opportunities.  The opportunities will be Temporary to Permanent and/or Direct Hire. While on-site, candidates will have the opportunity to complete an Adecco profile, assessments according to their skill sets, and if qualified; hiring paperwork.     The Junior Officer TAP workshop provides imperative career information and accommodates the specific needs of separating junior officers.  The workshop is tailored for junior professional leaders who share the same educational backgrounds and experiences.    This inclusive approach is designed to impart practical information that eases the transition into the civilian job market.  During this four-day program, participants will acquire a comprehensive understanding in the following:

    Area of Consideration: Service members meeting the ranks of O1-O3 who are within one year of separation.

  1. Contact the Career Resource Management Center to register for TAP Workshop at 703-614-6828.
  2. Submit TAP Registration Form & Henderson Hall Workshop Requirements Form to CRMC.
  3. Receive attendance confirmation for an upcoming TAP Workshop.
  4. Attend Pre-Separation Counseling Brief in conjunction with TAP Workshop.

Access your VMET online!

The VMET (Verification of Military Education and Training) lists your military experience including dates of experience, duty description and associated civilian occupations. The VMET also allows you to view all military training obtained during your career. Each course listing includes date, length and description of course. Some courses will list suggested semester hour credits for educational evaluation. The VMET is extremely helpful to service members who are thinking about or in the process of constructing a civilian resume. read more
