The Counseling Services Program provides a number of services to Marines and their families for self-improvement. Marine and Family Services counselors are highly-qualified licensed clinicians who are trained to assist individuals and families with a variety of emotional challenges. One component of the program is prevention and education. Individuals can also take advantage of individual, couple and family counseling, as well as a variety of workshops and classes. The other component is domestic violence assistance. Individuals can access 24-hour domestic violence and sexual assault services and victim advocacy. Counseling Services are also to provide command consultation and briefs as needed.

Family Advocacy Program (FAP)

Clinical Counseling's and the Family Advocacy Program's over-arching goal is to directly support individuals and families, thereby supporting mission readiness and retention. The program offers individual, couple, and family counseling as well as prevention and education workshops. Some of the workshops include stress management, anger management, and couples communication. Crisis intervention, victim advocacy, domestic violence assistance, treatment groups, and Rape Aggression Defense (RAD) are also part of the program. As part of the Coordinated Community approach, the programs also work together with other community services and the command to strengthen Marine families.

Victim Advocacy Program

A Marine Corps Victim Advocates provide information, guidance and support to victims. They are first responders. Specifically trained Victims Advocates will respond to incidents of domestic violence or sexual assault 24/7, but may also be contacted during working hours by anyone with questions or concerns.

New Parent Support Program

The New Parent Support Program (NPSP) comprises a professional team of nurses and social workers who provide supportive and caring services to military families. Through a variety of programs such as home visits, support groups, and parenting classes—including Baby Boot Camp, NPSP can help families cope with stress, isolation, deployment/post-deployment issues, and improve parenting skills. Even if you have been raising your family for a few years, challenges always arise, and NPSP offers you the opportunity to express your concerns and ask questions about babies, young children, family relationships, and parenting skills. Substance Abuse Combat Center

The mission of Substance Abuse Combat Center (SACC) is to reduce substance abuse incidents among Marines and sailors assigned to Henderson Hall, to enhance operational readiness through development and deployment of responsive, hard-hitting, cooperative prevention and education strategies accompanied by use of effective treatment modalities within a compassionate environment that emphasizes individual worth. To that end, SACC’s primary emphasis is on prevention through use of unit outreach and selective workshops and training. SACC also provides screening and assessment, as well as substance treatment, referral, and continuing care services.
