The role of the School Liaison is to support transitioning military families in obtaining educational information and assistance from local school districts.

The mission of the School Liaison is to mobilize and use community resources to reduce the impact of the mobile military life style on military school-age children and families; to implement predictable support services that assist children and youth with relocations, life transitions and achieving academic success; as well as provide a wide range of resources that facilitate school transitions for parent, students, schools, commanders and communities.

Tutors and Buddies Needed

The MCCS Henderson Hall Tutor & Buddy program with Barcroft Elementary School has resumed for this school year. The program provides a great opportunity to be a role model and to help students learn in a fun and interactive way through educational games. Volunteers are needed for the first and third Tuesdays, starting on Tuesday, November 1. Transportation will leave from Bldg. 12 at 10:45 am and return by 12:15 pm. This opportunity to make a difference in a child’s life is open to active duty personnel and civilians. If you are interested, please call the MCCS Henderson Hall Volunteer Opportunities Program Manager at 703-693-1253.
