The New Parent Support Program (NPSP) comprises a professional team of nurses and social workers who provide supportive and caring services to military families. Through a variety of programs such as home visits, support groups, and parenting classes—including Baby Boot Camp, NPSP can help families cope with stress, isolation, deployment/post-deployment issues, and improve parenting skills. Even if you have been raising your family for a few years, challenges always arise, and NPSP offers you the opportunity to express your concerns and ask questions about babies, young children, family relationships, and parenting skills. Contact us at 703-614-7204.

The New Parent Support Program has experienced and licensed nurses and social workers who provide Home Visitation. The purpose of the visit is to provide parenting education and support to you on an individual basis. The visits can take place in your home or in the NPSP offices located in the Marine and Family Service Center. The frequency of visits is usually once a week, every two weeks, or once a month - all according to your needs and interests.
The home visitor assigned can provide services addressing a variety of educational topics including: military family life, discipline, sibling rivalry, communication with your children, stress management tips, development screenings, toilet training, nutrition, SIDS prevention, deployment issues and much, much more. Services include parenting education as well as support and encouragement regarding the challenges of parenting.
