Welcome to the May newsletter for The Vineyard Wine & Spirits, your choice for fine wines, craft beers, and premium spirits in the National Capital Region. We hope you are planning to join us Saturday, May 5, for the Fourth Annual Wine Festival, to be held from 11 AM until 3 PM in front of the Marine Corps Exchange. Look for our Vineyard vendors to be sampling and selling over 100 wines. In addition, we have door prizes, courtesy of our vendors, being drawn on the hour 1– 3 PM, and a bottle signing by Rod J. Vasquez wine maker of
El Don Chilean Wines. "El Don" will also sign copies of his book,
"Wine My Passion, Your Lifestyle." All wines presented during the festival are available for purchase by the bottle or the case. See you there!
Fun, fun, fun! Join us for the Third Annual American Summer BBQ Expo this Saturday May 12, from 10 AM until 2 PM at the front of the Exchange. The MCX offers "The World of Weber" with grills and accessories 15% off and a variety of demos throughout the event. The Vineyard will have representatives from Sam Adams, Yuengling, MillerCoors, Leinenkugel's, Smirnoff, and Allagash conducting beer tastings and visiting with you about their brands.
This month's featured item is Glenmorangie Highland Single Malt Scotch Whiskey. Since 1843, Glenmorangie distillery has been producing its famous malt on the shores of the Dornoch Firth. Though the complex of buildings has seen many changes over the years, Glenmorangie is still handcrafted to this day by the Sixteen Men of Tain using tried and tested methods that have been passed down from generation to generation. The taste is full-flavored and mouth-filling; the mouthfeel is an amazing balance of luscious syrupy, chewy, and toasty mouth-warming effects; and the finish is long and rich to the end with treacle toffee, sun-dried raisins, and syrupy prunes.
